 At the first level: This says that I do not have the right to do harm to anyone else. We know that physical force is not the only thing that harms us, so the same limit applies to our right to free speech.

As long as we allow anyone to be abused and deprived of their rights, then the same mistreatment can be applied to ourselves. Abusive behavior tends to be contagious. Unless we completely eliminate it, there is a chance that it will spread to attack us.

Each of us has our own unique set of talents, knowledge, experiences and dreams.  So nobody else is in a position to do my thinking for me.  I am responsible for my own life; when I make mistakes, I want them to be my mistakes, not yours.

Even though I know I’m special, I like to have other people agree with me.  Besides, it is kind of fun to figure out what other people should do, but if I try to make their decisions for them, I am not respecting their abilities and uniqueness.

Having the right to do something doesn't make it the right thing to do.

Sometimes I get so hung up on defending my rights that I insist on doing something just to prove that I can. Often that is not the best thing I could choose to do.

War ships are designed to protect our nation.  However, it is often better to solve problems by diplomacy instead of my using our battleships.
