Spoon Feeding

 When somebody is doing something for me, I am not getting the exercise that would strengthen my abilities. There are plenty of times that I want help, but I am always better off when I remain an active participant in my life rather than becoming a passive spectator.

If I try to help someone by doing something for them, they miss out on the thinking and/or skill that would let them take ownership of the solution.

This applies to both personal relations and to the Middle East.


Beating an opponent seldom ends a disagreement.  The loser will be looking for a chance to get even.  You gain a true victory in an argument when you not only get what you really want but also leave the other side feeling satisfied.
